We continued through the Alaska zoo, and it got special. Here is the blog post that went with these.
S/he was barely thigh-high, and looked like a giant rabbit. Was curious.
The birds are really hefty in size. Our friends!
“Who are you, and what’s your business?”
She didn’t start out there, she came there. Kind, wise eyes.
They seemed to revel in it. Odd: they never howled right at us, which would display teeth aimed our way.
Getting the song moving both directions. They were not doglike and excited, but calm and deliberate.
This was a big dark fellow with magic in his voice. To hear them take up his call was to imagine all human works absent.
The diversity of their colors amazes.
Watchful, handsome and proud. And probably about ready for us to show respect by moving along.
Time to have a seat after a good and proper pack howl.
By all means feel free to comment on it.
Probably keeping an eye out to make sure we get going.
“Hi, I’m a river otter. Thanks for visiting the Alaska Zoo. Please stop by the gift shop–it helps support us.”
